    Huge Thank You!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in our recent Extreme Reading Competition. We had some amazing entries from destinations all around the world. From New York to The Alps and beyond, we were amazed with the brilliant and unusual places the children found to read. We also raised an incredible £1,573!

SATs Wellbeing Support Guide - Parents/Carers/Pupils

    Dear Year 6 Parents/Carers,

First of all, a HUGE thank you for all the effort you have put into helping your child prepare for their upcoming SATS next week. The children have been working extremely hard and we are really proud of their commitment. In the lead up to the tests we know that many pupils may feel anxious and we are working hard to reassure the children in school. Please take a look at the attached guide from ‘Third Space Learning’ which offers some guidance to parents/carers and pupils ahead of the KS2 SATS.

    Thank you.

    Children’s Mental Health week takes place 7th – 13th February 2022

To ensure mental health & wellbeing continues to have a raised profile in school, we will be celebrating ‘mental health week’ in our classes. As a school, we will be dedicating time each day to share and learn about mental health and wellbeing; including using the NHS’ 5 Ways to Wellbeing as our daily word of the day!
The theme this year is: Growing Together
In order to celebrate, we will also be hosting a non-uniform day on Friday 11th February 2022 where children will be invited to wear green to raise awareness of the theme. Any donations made will be used to support the school’s garden project.
Why not get involved at home? Use the wellbeing challenge below to select a task that you could do as a family.
    Kind regards,
    Miss S Yates
    Mental Health & Wellbeing Lead

    Additional Spring Bank Holiday 2022

    Dear parent/carer

The Government has announced that the Spring Bank Holiday in 2022 will be moved to Thursday 2nd June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3rd June will be given for Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. As this additional bank holiday falls in the May half term, it has been announced that the Government will reduce the minimum number of sessions schools are required to meet in the academic year 2021 to 2022. The total school year will therefore be 194 days.

Hill View Junior Academy will be closed on Monday 6th June 2022. This means we will return to school following the May half term break on Tuesday
