Welcome to Year 4 where the children are now no longer the youngest in the school.
The Year 4 teachers have planned a year that will be both exciting and challenging. From learning about the Vikings to discovering what’s along our very own coast, we explore many different aspects of the curriculum. In our reading we will be introduced to a range of new texts including the classic tale of Charlotte’s Web through to the poetry of Roald Dahl. In maths this year we will become the first ever year group in school to complete the new statutory assessment of times tables.
In Year 4 we set high expectations for the children whilst also offering a range of different experiences both in the classroom and the wider community. Such as pizza making, cross stitch and visits to The Life Centre, the historic quay at Hartlepool and fieldwork along our own coastal landscape.
We hope that your child enjoys their time in Year 4 and achieves their full potential.
Vikings in Year 4
Over the last half term we have been studying the Vikings, everything from where they came from to how the lived. At the end we have created our own short videos sharing what we have learned.
